News 12 Connecticut Advertisers have the opportunity to sponsor a variety of different segments such as News 12 Scholar Athlete, 12 On Health, 12 On The Money, Hometown Hero, What’s Going On, and Pet Talk.

News 12 Scholar Athlete:  The Scholar Athlete program highlights the best students on and off the playing field.  Southwestern Connecticut High School students who excel at athletics as well as academics are profiled weekly with some chosen to receive scholarships at the end of the school year. The Scholar Athlete segments air on Mondays in the evening and night newscasts.

  

12 On Health: Southwesten Connecticut viewers can find out all the latest in medical news with this half hour weekend program that covers health issues, advancements and medical breakthroughs.  12 on Health is also a daily segment in the evening and night newscasts.

 

12 On The Money : News 12 Connecticut tackles money matters with this half hour weekend program that covers personal finance, financial planning, real estate, and more.  12 on the Money has a segment called Money Minute that airs on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening and night newscasts. 

 

Hometown Hero: This weekly segment honors a person or business that has made a positive and significant difference in the community.  The Hometown Hero segment airs on Wednesdays in the evening and night newscasts.

 

What’s Going On:  News 12 Connecticut offers fun and interesting things to do locally, all within a short drive. What’s Going On is a daily full-screen element that runs in nearly all the newscasts.

 

Pet Tails: Looking to adopt a pet? The pet of the week on News 12 Connecticut’s Pet Tails shows you local animals looking for a loving home.  Pet Tails airs on Fridays during the noon newscast.

 

Pet Talk : This half hour weekend program covers all things animals from grooming, to training, to local rescue groups.  Pet Talk is hosted by News 12 Connecticut’s Lauren Collier.  

 

Chef’s Quick Tip : In this short segment, local chefs share cooking tips to help you in the kitchen.  Chef’s Quick Tip airs daily in the noon newscast.

 

WeatherKids : News 12 Connecticut’s morning weathercaster, Paul Piorek, visits classrooms in southwestern Connecticut teaching children about the weather in an interactive and exciting way.  Students participate in weather experiments, songs, and trivia.  WeatherKids airs every Thursday evening throughout the school year.
